Configuration Using the Web Interface

SNMP V3 Profile

SNMP v3 can provide more security functions when you perform remote management through SNMP
protocol. It delivers SNMP information to the administrator with user authentication; all of data between the
ES8510-XTE and the administrator are encrypted to ensure secure communication.

SNMP V3 Profile Page

User Name

SNMP v3 user name.

Security Level

Select the following levels of security: None, Authentication, and
Authentication and Privacy.

Authentication Level

Select either MD5 (Message-Digest algorithm 5) or SHA (Secure
Hash Algorithm).

MD5 is a widely used cryptographic hash function with a 128-
bit hash value.

SHA functions refer to five Federal Information Processing
Standard-approved algorithms for computing a condensed
digital representation.

The ES8510-XTE provides two user authentication protocols in
MD5 and SHA. You need to configure SNMP v3 parameters for
your SNMP tool with the same authentication method.

Authentication
Password

Enter the SNMP v3 user authentication password.

DES Password

Enter the password for SNMP v3 user DES Encryption.

Add

Click to add an SNMP v3 user.

SNMP V3 Users

This table provides SNMP v3 user information.

Click Remove to remove a selected SNMP v3 user.

Click Reload to reload SNMP v3 user information.
