10. Power

In this section, we describe the blade power consumption, power distribution, and power

monitoring/control.

10.1. Maximum Power Consumption

Without the optional TCAM mezzanine board, the typical operating power max is estimated at about

273 watts and the maximum power consumption is at 307 watts. With the TCAM mezzanine board, it
is anticipated to be 330W (typical max.) and 350W, respectively.

10.2. Power

Distribution

The blade is fed by the dual -48V from the backplane. The incoming -48Vs are converted by an ATCA

Bus Converter PIM400 and a DC-DC Converter QBVW033A0B bus converter into 12V, which again
feeds different DC/DC converters to generate necessary voltages as can be seen in

Figure 10-1
