Replacement procedures

IMPORTANT:

H3C recommends that you place a removed module in an antistatic bag or its original shipping materials.

Cleaning the air filters

The air filters of an S9500E switch fall into the following types:

Chassis air filter—The chassis air filter is not shipped with the S9500E chassis by default. You can
order one as needed.

Power supply air filter—A DC power supply is shipped with a power supply air filter by default. An
AC power supply does not have an air filter.

To guarantee good ventilation of the switch and power supplies, H3C recommends that you clear the air
filters monthly.

Cleaning the chassis air filters

This section separately describes how to clean the air filters for the S9508E-V switches and switches of
other models.

Cleaning the chassis air filters for an S9508E-V

An S9508E-V has front and rear chassis air filters, which can be removed, cleaned, and installed in the

same way.
To clean a chassis air filter:

1.

Loosen the captive screws at both sides of the chassis air filter, and remove the chassis air filter.

2.

Take off the sponge at the rear of the chassis air filter. Use clean water to wash the sponge (do not

rub the sponge), air-dry the sponge, and then install it to the rear of the chassis air filter.

3.

Install the chassis air filter to the correct position, and fasten the captive screws at both sides of the
chassis air filter.
