Your print appears blurry or
smeared.

◗ Make sure the type of paper you loaded matches the paper setting you

selected on the control panel and in your printer software.

◗ Make sure you’re using compatible media and it was stored in a dry,

humidity-free environment. If necessary, load new paper.

◗ If you’re printing on Epson film, be sure to use the film basket to catch

ejected media; see page 59.

◗ If you’re using cut sheet media, make sure the printable side is face-up.
◗ If ink is smeared on the front of your print, the paper feed rollers may be

soiled. See page 99 for cleaning instructions.

◗ If ink is smeared on the back of your print, make sure PAPER SIZE CHECK is

ON in the control panel menu. This prevents printing beyond the edge of the
paper and soiling the inside of the printer. Clean the paper path as described
on page 99.

◗ If ink is smeared on the bottom edge of your print, the paper is curled toward

the printable side. Flatten the paper or curl it toward the other side.

You experience problems
using non-Epson media or a
non-supported Epson paper
type.

Although the Epson Stylus

Pro WT7900 is designed to work primarily with

Epson film, it is possible to print on other selected Epson paper types. Check
the Epson Pro Imaging website at www.proimaging.epson.com or your
Epson Professional Imaging Authorized Reseller for compatible media.

◗ You may need to adjust the settings for the paper in your printer software.

See the instructions included with the paper, and follow the paper
manufacturer’s guidelines.

◗ You may need to create custom paper settings using the printer’s control

panel; see page 73. When you’re done using the settings, be sure to return
them to standard (STD).

If you observe horizontal banding, check the following:

◗ Check if your printer software provides a method for adjusting the paper

feed. You can also use the printer’s PAPER FEED ADJUSTMENT to reduce
banding. Reduce the value for white lines, and increase it for overlapping
dark lines.

◗ Make sure the PAPER THICKNESS setting is correct for your paper.

If your print is smeared, check the following:

◗ Check if your printer software provides lets you adjust the paper thickness,

drying time, or color density.

◗ If you’re printing on thick paper, the printer’s PLATEN GAP setting may be

incorrect. Use the control panel to change the setting to WIDE or WIDER;
see page 69.
