Maintaining White Ink Cartridges
Due to the special properties of Epson white ink, some settling of the ink
components can occur over time. This may cause uneven printing. To
maintain optimal print quality, the white ink cartridges must be shaken on a
regular basis.
To shake a white ink cartridge, hold it horizontally as shown. Shake it back
and forth about an inch or two (5 cm) in each direction.
See the sections below for special storage instructions for white ink
cartridges, and to determine when and how much to shake them.
Storing and Shaking White Ink Cartridges
When you’re storing white ink cartridges, follow these steps to maintain
their quality:
• After purchasing a white ink cartridge, if you don’t plan to use it right
away, shake the box with the cartridge still inside for about 30 seconds.
• When you store a white ink cartridge, lay it down flat on a shelf.
• If you store white ink cartridges over a long period of time, shake them
at least once a month. Leave the cartridges in their boxes and shake them
for about 30 seconds each.
Caution: Do not touch
the green chip on top of
the cartridge.
WARNING: If ink gets on
your hands, wash them
thoroughly with soap
and water. If ink gets in
your eyes, flush them
immediately with water.
Note: Use ink cartridges
before the expiration
date printed on the box.
