Send mail first

: Check to have Pylon send any Mail drafts before

it syncs your Lotus Notes Mail with your device Inbox.

Sync only unread

: Check to have Pylon sync only the unread Mail

in your Lotus Notes Mail application.

Read all the notes and cautions that follow below before finalizing
your Attachment types to sync settings.

Attachment types to sync:

- Word: Check to enable, uncheck to disable, syncing of Microsoft
Word (*.doc and *.rtf) attachments.
- append as text: Check to enable conversion of Word
attachments to text that is appended to the message body;
uncheck to keep the Word document as a separate attachment.
- Excel: Check to enable, uncheck to disable, syncing of Microsoft
Excel (*.xsl) attachments.

Caution

If you select append as text for Word documents, and an incoming
message has a Word attachment that is too large to fit within the
operating system’s email message size limitation, none of the
attachment is appended to the message body.

Note

When a Word file is appended to the message body as text, it takes
up less memory on the device, but you should be aware of the
following:
- In the body of the email you will see the file name of the
attachment, followed by its content, without any formatting.
- If you reply to or forward the email from your device, the new
email message will also contain the text of the attachment.
- The size of the email with the attachment cannot exceed the size
limit for an email message, which is set by the device OS. The
message size limit is 32KB on a Palm OS device, and 2MB on a
Pocket PC OS device. A longer email will appear truncated.
- Graphics will appear as placeholders.
- Foreign characters are supported.
- Complex or older Microsoft Word documents may not display
properly.

Note

On Palm OS devices, Attachment types to sync settings for
attachments that are not appended as text are only supported on
Palm OS v4.0 and higher. For messages forwarded from the Palm
mail client, Pylon automatically reattaches server-based attachments
from the original message to the forwarded mail message if the
original message’s attachments were not downloaded to the mobile
device.

Note

On a Palm OS device, in order to view attached Microsoft Word or
Excel files, you must have DataViz Documents To Go, version 4, 5, 6, or
7 installed. You may order DataViz software from

http://

www.dataviz.com/products/documentstogo/index.html

. Pocket PC

OS devices come with comparable software pre-installed. If you
already have the DataViz software installed, you will see the Word To
Go
and Sheet To Go applications listed on your Palm device.
