5. Under the heading for the application, double-click the name of
the filter that you just made a note of.
The filter information is displayed in a filter configuration screen.
6. Make sure the Category Sync field contains a unique name.
If Category Sync is blank, enter a unique name now — for
instructions on modifying a filter, see “Making generic changes to a
sync filter” (page 76).
If Category Sync has an entry, make a note of the name now.
Creating a new filter for the additional database or view
Note You must make a copy of an existing filter in order to create a new filter
for the additional database or view. The multiple databases or views for
the same application cannot use the same filter, because each must have
a filter with a unique entry in the Category Sync field.
1. Make a copy of the filter that has settings that are closest to what you
want to use to sync the additional database or view.
For instructions, see “Making a copy of a sync filter” (page 72).
Tip Be sure you give the new filter a name that describes how it is to be
used. For example, you could name it the same as the filter from
which it is copied, but add some text at the right end like “db2” or
the Notes database name with which it will work.
2. Display the list of filters.
For instructions, see “Displaying the list of Pylon filters — Filters
view of Pylon Configuration Database” (page 74).
3. Under the heading for the application, double-click the name of
the filter that you just created.
The filter information is displayed in a filter configuration screen.
4. In the Lotus Notes Configuration section, enter the information for
the additional database or view.
Caution This information must be technically accurate in order for Pylon to
be able to sync the additional database or view.
5. In the Category Sync field, enter a unique name.
Note Category Sync is not available with the Calendar application on
Palm. The Calendar application, viewed through the Palm Date
Book, works directly with the Calendar database name.
Caution This name must be unique (within the set of category names for the
application) in order for Pylon to be able to sync the additional
database or view correctly. If the same category name is used in
multiple filters, syncing duplicates information on the updated
platform.
Note You can leave the Category Sync field empty, and let Pylon generate
