Chain Dialing

Each fax number that you enter or program into your
machine can be up to 40 digits long. If you need to dial a
number with more digits, use the chain dial feature.

Creating a Chain Dial Number

Print the Phone Directory before you begin
programming. See “Reports, Telephone Directory.”
This provides a reference of the speed dial numbers
already programmed.

Program the first 39 digits into a Speed Dial number.

See “Programming Speed Dial Numbers, Programming a
Speed Dial.”

Press the Plus (+) key (One-Touch key #39).

Program the rest of the number into a different Speed
Dial number.

Dialing the Chain Dial Number

Load the document to be faxed.

SELECT LOCATION displays.

Select the first Speed Dial Number programmed.

Wait until SELECT LOCATION displays.

When prompted, enter the second Speed Dial number.

Press the Start key to begin sending the fax.

The remaining part of the number not programmed in
the first Speed Dial number can also be input manually
when prompted, using the numeric keypad (step 2).
