Printing a Confidential Message

This function is designed to prevent
unauthorized users from reading
your messages. If someone sends you
a message using Confidential Trans-
mission, it is stored in memory but
not automatically printed. To print
the message you have to enter the
Confidential ID Code. When your
machine has received a confidential
message, the Confidential File (

i)

indicator lights.

Preparation

Before using this function, pro-
gram your Confidential ID. See
p.191 “Programming a Confiden-
tial ID”.

Important

❒ If the main power switch is off

more than one hour, all confiden-
tial messages are deleted. When
this happens, use the Power Fail-
ure Report to identify which mes-
sages have been deleted. See p.198
“Turning Off the Main Power /
When a Power Failure Occurs”.

Limitation

❒ You must program the Confiden-

tial ID for Confidential Reception
to work.

❒ This function is not available with

Internet Fax.

Note

❒ You can program one of the Quick

Operation keys with operations for
this function. Using the key allows
you to omit steps

Confirm that the Confidential File
indicator is lit.

Press [Information].

Press [Print Confidential RX File].

Note

❒ If no confidential messages have

been received, the message “

No

reception file.

” is shown.

Press [Exit].

DDDD

Enter a 4-digit Confidential ID
using the number keys, and then
press the

{{{{Start}}}} key.

The Confidential ID differs de-
pending on the Sender's specifica-
tions.
