Making a Multi-Track Recording

Erasing Just a Portion of a Recording (Track Erase)

If instead of re-recording the portion where a mistake was made, you simply
wish to erase the mistake, use the following procedure. The result will
sound the same as recording silence over the unwanted section, without
using additional disk space.

Although it will appear
that the audio data is
erased by this process, the
data that is no longer
played back is not actually
erased from the hard disk.
This means that the
available recording time
will not increase when you
use the Track Erase
operation. If you wish to
increase the available
recording time, please read
“Deleting an Erased
Recording from the Disk
(Song Optimize)” (p. 53).
