System Monitor Settings

Disk Space
These parameters set a notification based on whether disk space usage exceeds a specified amount. A list of all disks and
partitions is shown, with the current usage level as a percentage, as well as a dropdown list of usage percentages when
the System Monitor will alert the administrator. To access this feature, enable disk space monitoring by setting the alert-
ing threshold (% full) for each disk partition.
Load Average
These parameters set a notification based on whether the load average (measured over 1 minute, 5 minutes, or 15 min-
utes) exceeds a specified maximum.
Notes:
• Usage should not exceed 80%. If the disk is full, old log files should be copied to a remote machine using the “scp”
command or the Off-Server Backup facility, and deleted from the Application Server hard disk once they have been
copied.
• The BluStar Application Server cannot operate if the disk is full. Under normal operational circumstances, disk space
monitoring should be enabled.
