Login Banners
Some customers require login banners. Login banners to be displayed on BluStar 8000i terminals before and after logon
can be configured either globally (BluStar Devices :: BluStar Terminals :: Global Terminal Settings) or on a terminal-
specific basis (BluStar Devices :: BluStar Terminals :: BluStar Terminal Status).
The text displayed at login time on the server console, on SSH sessions, and on the Web UI, can be configured by editing
the file /etc/motd using the command:
vi /etc/motd
Required Periodic Actions
The general BluStar log file /var/log/vipr should periodically be examined for repeated login failure entries. Large num-
bers of failures could signify automated password guessing or denial of service activity.
