Description

Authentication

Click on Enable or Disable radio button to enable/disable

authentication for exchanging the routing information. All

the routers exchanging routing information must use the

same authentication key. The default setting is Disable.

RIP Authentication Mode Select RIP authentication mode from the drop down list. Two

modes are available -

Clear Text, and MD5. The default

setting is

Clear Text.

Authentication Key

Enter the authentication key for shared by all the routers

exchanging routing information. The default authentication

key is

admin.

7.2.2 Configuring RIP

To configure RIP

1. Click the

Routing menu to open the routing configuration page.

2. In the RIP Configuration page, click the

Enable or Disable radio button

depending on whether you want to enable or disable RIP service. Skip

this step, if you have already done so.

3. Select an interface from the drop-down list via which the routing

information is to be exchanged.

4. To enable or disable RIP for the specified interface, click the

Enable or

Disable radio button.
