Field

Description

Destination IP Address Specifies the IP address of the destination computer or

an entire destination network. It can also be specified

as all zeros to indicate that this route should be used

for all destinations for which no other route is defined

(this is the route that creates the default gateway). Note

that destination IP must be a network ID. The default

route uses a destination IP of 0.0.0.0. Refer to 13.1

IP Addresses for more details on IP addresses.

Destination Netmask

Indicates which parts of the destination address refer to the

network and which parts refer to a computer on the network.

The default route uses a netmask of 0.0.0.0. Refer to 13.3

Subnet masks for more details on network masks.

Gateway IP Address

5. To enable or disable RIP passive mode, click the

Enable or Disable

radio button.

6. Select RIP version for sending and receiving routing information from

the respective drop-down list.

7. To enable or disable authentication, click the

Enable or Disable radio

button. You must also select the RIP authentication mode and enter

authentication key if authentication is enabled.

8. Repeat steps 1 to 5 if you want to configure another interface to support

routing information exchange.

9. Click <

Apply> to save the RIP configuration.
