When a pair is deleted from the primary system, that system changes the status of the
P-VOL and S-VOL to unpaired.

When a pair is deleted from the secondary system, that system changes the S-VOL status
to unpaired, and the secondary system detects the pair release and changes the P-VOL
status to Suspended.

Pair status definitions

Both Remote Web Console and Business Continuity Manager pair status names appear in the
Status column, except when the names are the same. When they are the same, the Business
Continuity Manager (BCM) status does not appear.

The following table shows both types of status names and their descriptions. In some cases, a
particular status has no exact parallel status in the other interface. This is noted.

When checking your pairs’ status, click Refresh to make sure the data is current. The P-VOL access
and S-VOL access columns in the following table indicate whether the volumes accept read/write.
