Splitting Fast Snap pairs to store snapshot data

This topic explains how to split pairs. Splitting pairs stores snapshot data. You can store a maximum
of 1,024 snapshots from a P-VOL. If you reach the maximum, delete the unneeded or unused
snapshots.

If you have stored multiple snapshot data, you can share the data in a pool.

To store snapshots, the pair must not have a status of “PAIR”, even when the hosts update the
P-VOLs. If the snapshot data acquisition process stops, resume the process by splitting the pair.

Prerequisites:

You have the Storage Administrator (Local Copy) role.

The FS pair status is “PAIR”.
