The print quality is poor or characters and lines are offset.

Press Menu, 3, 5 to print a Self Test Report to verify the problem.

Press Menu, 7, 2 to align the print cartridges. Follow the
instructions on the printout.

Confirm results by printing another Self Test Report.

Your documents don’t feed or are skewed when faxing, scanning, or copying.

Be sure the document guides are adjusted properly.

If documents still don’t feed properly, clean the rollers:

Unplug the HP OfficeJet.

Open the front panel cover to expose the document rollers.

If the rollers need cleaning, dip a cloth in isopropyl alcohol,
squeeze out excess liquid, and clean them.

Important:

Do not touch the rubber rollers with your fingers. Allow

rollers to dry thoroughly before using.

The HP OfficeJet is not picking up paper from the paper tray.

Use only paper types and capacities specified in “Paper Types and
Sizes” on page 5-2.

Be sure the paper tray is pushed all the way in.

Load at least ten sheets of paper in the paper tray.

Make sure the paper guides are not too tight against the paper.

If paper still does not pick up, clean the rollers:

Unplug the HP OfficeJet.

Open the rear access door on the back of the unit.

Clean the rubber rollers with isopropyl alcohol.

Important:

To clean, rotate the hard plastic rollers by hand. Do not

touch the rubber rollers with your fingers.

Dialog boxes don’t fit on your screen or you can’t close the viewer.

Through Windows, change your screen resolution to 800 x 600 or
higher.
