General Troubleshooting

In the unlikely event of a problem with the Remote Web Console software, first make sure that the
problem is not being caused by the PC or Ethernet hardware or software, and try restarting the
PC. Exiting the Remote Web Console software does not affect TrueCopy for Mainframe operations
already in progress.

For important information about proper configuration for your operational environment, see

“Using

PPRC Commands for TrueCopy for Mainframe” (page 188)

.

“General TrueCopy for Mainframe Troubleshooting” (page 177)

provides general troubleshooting

information for TrueCopy for Mainframe.

“ Troubleshooting RCU Path Status Problems” (page 178)

provides troubleshooting information for RCU paths.

“Troubleshooting Suspended TrueCopy for

Mainframe Pairs” (page 180)

and

“Resolving TrueCopy for Mainframe Async Suspension Conditions”

(page 182)

provide troubleshooting information for suspended TrueCopy for Mainframe pairs.

and restrictions are met (for example, track format, LVI,
VOLSER, DFW).

The Remote Web Console software hangs, or TrueCopy
for Mainframe operations do not function properly.

Make sure the MCU and RCU are powered on and fully
operational (NVS, cache, DFW). See the HP
XP24000/XP20000 Disk Array Owner's Guide
for
operational and troubleshooting information.

Check all input values and parameters to make sure you
entered the correct information on the TrueCopy for
Mainframe windows (for example, RCU S/N and SSID,
path parameters, M-VOL and R-VOL IDs).

Call the HP technical support for assistance.

If any channel enable LED indicators (XP disk array control
panel) are off or flashing.

Make sure that the correct CU is selected.

The pairs and/or RCUs are not displaying correctly.

Locate the SIM (see the HP XP24000/XP20000 Remote
