You can share the volume only when the TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous pair is suspended.

CAUTION:

If a Compatible FlashCopy V2 relationship of Preserve Mirror is created in COPY mode, the
relationship between the primary and secondary sites is created. However, both copies are not
synchronized. If the Withdraw is issued during the copy operation, both copies of the Compatible
FlashCopy V2 relationship is ended. Therefore, consistency of data between the M-VOL and R-VOL
is not ensured even though the TCz Synchronous pair is in Duplex mode. This status is confirmed
by the PPRC CQUERY command of TCz or the TCz window of Storage Navigator. To release the
status, delete the TCz Synchronous pair.

NOTE:

When TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous, XP Continuous Access and XP Continuous

Access Journal coexist in the same XP disk array, TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous pairs,
XP Continuous Access pairs and XP Continuous Access Journal pairs cannot be mixed in one
consistency group. If XP Continuous Access pair has been allocated to Consistency group No. 00,
XP Continuous Access Journal pair and Universal Replicator for Mainframe Software pair cannot
be allocated to Consistency group No. 00. TrueCopy for Mainframe Asynchronous and XP
Continuous Access share the same cache sidefile area.

ShadowImage for Mainframe

ShadowImage for Mainframe volumes can be assigned to TrueCopy for Mainframe pairs, and
TrueCopy for Mainframe volumes can be assigned to ShadowImage for Mainframe pairs. For
further information on ShadowImage for Mainframe, see the Hitachi ShadowImage™ for Mainframe
User's Guide: HP XP24000 Disk Array, HP XP20000 Disk Array
.

When TrueCopy for Mainframe and ShadowImage for Mainframe are both active on the same
XP disk array, TrueCopy for Mainframe cannot be used to copy within that storage system.
ShadowImage for Mainframe is recommended for storage system-internal copy. If ShadowImage
for Mainframe is not active, TrueCopy for Mainframe Synchronous supports intra-storage system
copy and requires at least one external fibre cable loop.

TrueCopy for Mainframe and ShadowImage for Mainframe can be used together in the same
storage system and on the same volumes to provide multiple copies of data at the main and/or
remote sites.

volumes, ShadowImage for Mainframe volumes, and TrueCopy for Mainframe/ShadowImage for
Mainframe shared volumes.
