❑ Opening the unit, for whatever reason, could lead to damages that are not covered by the guarantee.
❑ To avoid electrical shock, do not open the cabinet. Refer servicing to qualified personnel only.
❑ Audio and picture distortion may occur if this equipment is positioned in close proximity to any equipment emitting electromagnetic

radiation.

❑ To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not expose your Sony Personal Computer to rain or moisture.
❑ When transporting the unit, prevent foreign objects from causing a malfunction by using the battery pack, the connector covers

and the supplied slot protectors if there is any.

❑ Unplug all connected cables including the telephone cord and the power cord when you hear thunder.
❑ Only connect 10BASE-T, 100BASE-TX, and 1000BASE-T cables to the computer network jack. Do not connect any other type of

network cable or any telephone line.
The computer network jack cannot be connected to a telephone line, a coin-operated telephone, a digital private branch exchange
(PBX), or multiple phone lines.
These connections may result in an electric current overload and could cause a malfunction, excessive heat, or fire in the
connector.
For the settings and devices needed to connect to the network, please ask your network administrator.

❑ The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
❑ Do not block air intake vents and air exhaust vents. Also, do not place your computer on a bed, sofa, or rug.
❑ This product has been tested and found compliant with the limits set out in the EMC regulation for using connection cables shorter

than 3 meters.

❑ To change the backup battery, please contact your nearest Sony Service Centre.
❑ Before you connect peripherals, turn off the computer and all peripherals.
