Using your VAIO computer
Using a disc drive
Your computer does not come with a portable disc drive, but you can purchase one separately. Connect the disc drive to your
computer via the supplied port replicator and it is ready for CD/DVD operations. The necessary driver software is already installed.
Connecting the disc drive
To connect the disc drive, proceed as follows:
1 Connect the supplied port replicator to your computer. See Using the port replicator for more information.
2 Connect the L-shaped connector of the VAIO peripheral cable 1 (1) to the designated receptacle on the back of the disc drive and
turn the wheel on the connector to secure it on the disc drive.

When you connect the disc drive for the first time, it may take some time before your system detects the disc drive.
