Executing Software Locally
To set the IntraSwitch 5308FL to boot (execute its
software) locally from its internal flash memory:
1 Make sure the IntraSwitch 5308FL is config-
ured with a valid IP address.
2 Open the Bootstrap Parameter Menu by typ-
ing
b in the Configuration Menu.
3 Type l to set the Load Mode to Local.
The IntraSwitch 5308FL is set to load its soft-
ware locally from its internal flash memory.
This occurs each time the IntraSwitch
5308FL is powered on or is reset.
Loading Software Remotely
To set the IntraSwitch 5308FL to boot (load its software)
over the network from a remote server:
1 Open the Bootstrap Parameter menu by typ-
ing
b in the Configuration Menu.
2 Type s to select the option Set Boot Server
IP Address.
3 Type the IP address of the remote boot
server containing the software image file for
the IntraSwitch 5308FL at the prompt, then
press return.
4 Type r to set the Load Mode to Remote.
5 Type f to select the option Set File Name.
6 Type the software image file’s name and net-
work path at the prompt, then press return.
The IntraSwitch 5308FL is set to download
its software remotely from the network.
