LanguageOverride

REG_SZ

Language code such as "en-us" or "fr". Lenovo Patch Utility uses this
value to select the language of user interface elements.

The default value is blank, in which case Lenovo Patch Utility uses the
same user interface language with the operating system.

You should set this value for ThinkVantage Technology programs
correctly before Lenovo Patch Utility is invoked, otherwise the language
code used by Lenovo Patch Utility and ThinkVantage Technology
programs might be inconsistent with each other.

Version

REG_SZ

The version number of Lenovo Patch Utility.

Lenovo Patch Utility creates the registry key HKLM\Software\Lenovo\LPU\ , and it has the subkey
HKLM\Software\Lenovo\LPU\<TVTName>. The settings under this key are application-specific, for example
HKLM\Software\Lenovo\LPU\AC\. The following is a list of Lenovo Patch Utility registry settings.

exception information.

Log name: Lenovo-Lenovo Patch Utility/Admin

Dependencies

Lenovo Patch Utility requires the Microsoft.NET Framework 2.0 or later.

Configurable options

Lenovo Patch Utility provides a global enable/disable switch in the registry that is manageable through the
Active Directory. When disabled, Lenovo Patch Utility will not be invoked and it will return a code to you
indicating that it is disabled and will not search for patches.

The following two settings can be configured through the Administrative Template:

• Global enable/disable switch

[HKLM\Software\Lenovo\LPU] ([HKCU\Software\Lenovo\LPU])

Setting: Enabled

Possible values: YES, NO

The default value is YES. If the value is NO, for the ThinkVantage Technology program that is bundled
with Lenovo Patch Utility, the normal WER feature built into the operating system will be initiated,
depending on the system configuration. However, Lenovo Patch Utility will not be invoked by WER
events.
