1. A text file identifies the files that should be copied to a location specified in the command line.
2. The <copy to location> must be an existing directory that will receive the files from the Predesktop Area.
The files will be copied into this directory in the same tree structure as they are found in the Predesktop
Area. This will avoid copying files over existing files with the same name.
3. Sample command:
RRUTIL /g <path>getlist.txt <copy to location>
getlist.txt contents:
\PELDR
\preboot\startup\Restore.cmd
\preboot\usrintfc\PDAGUI.ini
Note: Wildcards are not supported in this function. You must understand the Predesktop Area
environment before attempting any modifications.
Putting files to the directories in the Predesktop Area
RRUTIL /p <path>
To add files to or replace files from the \preboot, \minint , or root directory in either the virtual or type
12 partition, do the following:
1. Place all the files in a temp folder on drive c:\. Based on location in the temp directory, the files will
be copied into the PE partitions in the same locations. For example, to add or replace a .cmd file in
\preboot\startup, the user will need to place the .cmd file in c:\tempdir\preboot\startup and then run the
command
RRUTIL /p c:\tempdir
2. The sample command
RRUTIL /p c:\PDATemp
is contained in the c:\PDATemp directory, and the directory is a mirror image of the directory structure
of the \preboot, \minint, or root directory in the Predesktop Area. The files in the root of c:\PDATemp
would put the files in the root of the PE partition.
Deleting files from the directories in the Predesktop Area
RRUTIL /d C:\temp\dellist.txt
Delete the file(s) in the \preboot, \minint , or root directory in either the virtual or type 12 partition:
1. Delete the file(s) in the \preboot, \minint , or root directory in either the virtual or type 12 partition based
on the contents of a text file.
2. The Dellist.txt file must contain a tree structure of the files to be deleted from the Predesktop Area.
3. For sample command: RRUTIL /d <path> dellist.txt, the dellist.txt file contents are the following:
\preboot\startup\custom.cmd Sample file name only
\preboot\usrintfc\test.txt Sample file name only
