E XTEND C HAIN R EINSTALLATION
Inspect and lubricate the chains thoroughly before reinstallation. Articulate the chain(s) to
make sure all working surfaces are thoroughly lubricated.
See Section 6
At the end of the chain(s) being inserted into the boom, install a plastic tie-wrap
through the chain holes, forming a loop, and tie a rope to the loop.
Carefully pull the chain into the boom to the chain clevis anchor.
Fasten the chain to the clevis with a pin and colter pin. Lock the colter pin.
At the other end of the chain, connect the chain to the clevis per step 3.
Install the chain clevis fastening and adjusting hardware on both ends.
Remove mechanical blocking from boom sections.
Adjust extend chains.

Install and torque the jam nuts to 100 ft-lb. Do not use LOCTITE
®
on the nuts.
If the chains cannot be removed using the above procedure, the booms will have to be
separated to allow access to the chains.
