Check for Force Control Drift Around Zero

The tuning parameters that you set up earlier were conservative to help ensure that the system does not
go unstable. However, because of this, you may encounter some force control drift on power up. This will
be visible in the Scope or you may trip a force limit. If your force Scope shows some oscillation around
zero you may need to increase your P gain. In this example, P gain was increased to 4 to stop the drift
around 0. I gain was left at 1 because, as a general rule for cycle testing, I gain should be around 25% of
the P gain value.

To check and correct for force control drift around zero:

1. Switch to Force Control Mode.

2. Set up the Scope to read the force signal that should be near 0 kN.
