2.1 Glossary of Terminology and Concepts
When a device has as many features as the models NE-1200/NE-1600/NE-1800, understanding its
operation could be a daunting task at first. By understanding the key concepts and terminology used in
this manual, the operation of the syringe pump will become quite intuitive. Every effort has been made to
design the syringe pumps with a consistent and intuitive user interface.
To facilitate and enhance your understanding of this syringe pump’s operation, please take the time to
familiarize yourself with the basic concepts below:
Parts of the P P P Pump::::
1) End Plate
2) Plunger Flange Retainer Knobs (2). Tightens
or loosens Plunger Flange Retainer.
3) Drive-Nut Release lever and Button. Press
down, then in, to release Pusher Bar
4) Pusher Bar
5) Syringe Barrel Holder Rack
6) Syringe Barrel Retainer Bar
7) Barrel Flange Retainer Knobs (2). Tightens
or loosens Barrel Flange Retainer.
8) Barrel Flange Retainer Bracket
9) Plunger Flange Anti-Siphon Retainer
Bracket. Replaceable with a micro-liter
syringe bracket on models NE-1200 and NE-
1800.
