Problem Remedy
Missing characters in raw
reports Check the correct setting of the FIFO buffer:
•
Win 95, 98: <Start>, Settings, Control panel,
System, Device manager, Ports, COMX, Port
settings, Advanced: Set transmit and receive
buffer to "low". Don't switch it off!
•
Win NT: <Start>, Settings, Control panel, Ports,
COMX, Settings, Advanced: Don't activate FIFO
buffer.
No data reception
•
Check the RS settings on your device and the
port parameter in the datalogger.
•
Check the cable: Do you use the correct cable?
Is the cable correctly plugged in (the end with
"RS232C" at the device, the end with "IBM PC"
at the PC side)?
•
Does your device send a report at the end of the
determination?
Is this report on COM1 of the analytical device (if
you have more than one)?
•
If you work with a Softswitch, check if the inputs
are switched over (LED is changing from input to
input). If inputs are not switched over:
. Set switch of Softswitch at the outermost posi-
tion in the direction of the PC.
. SOFT1.X is the Softswitch connected to COM1
of the PC, etc.
. Connect Softswitch to another COM of the PC.
•
Switch your analytical devices off/on.
•
Restart your PC.
•
For pH Meters and Conductometers: Send only
reports without included curves (short reports).
•
For 691 pH Meter: Set Handshake of pH Meter
to HS=0.
726 Titroprocessor:
No data reception anymore
•
If data reception is not ok after switching on the
Titroprocessor:
Initialize the RS interface at the Titroprocessor in
"Config, Interfaces".
