To set the system health parameters for each device:

1. Use the drop-down list to select the appropriate Node.
2. Select one of the health options: heartbeat, polling (power save ON), or polling (power save OFF).
3. Click on the Send button to send these parameters changes to the selected Node.
4. Repeat steps one through three for each Node in the network.
5. If you selected Heartbeat mode, go to the Heartbeat Configuration screen to configure the system-wide heartbeat parameters. If

you selected Polling, go to the Polling Configuration screen to configure the system-wide polling parameters.

Heartbeat. In heartbeat mode, the Nodes send "heartbeat" messages to the Gateway at specific intervals to indicate the radio link is
active. The heartbeat is always initiated by the Node and is used only to verify radio communications. Heartbeat mode is typically used by
M-GAGE Nodes.

Heartbeat (Re-Synch in x sec). Select one of the three Heartbeat modes to configure the Node to use Heartbeat mode. The re-synch
time indicates how often the Node will listen for the Gateway: every second, every two seconds, or every four seconds.

Polling (Power Save ON). Power Save ON Polling is optimized for battery-powered FlexPower devices. Nodes using Power Save ON
Polling only listen for polling messages from the Gateway once per second.

Polling (Power Save OFF). Power Save OFF Polling is typically used for 10 to 30V dc powered Nodes. Nodes using Power Save OFF
Polling can listen for polling messages from the Gateway at the maximum rate (about 16 times per second).

Master Mode

Use the Master Mode screen to configure the Gateway to function as a Modbus Master device. Each table entry, or Map #, specifies a
register read or register write command to a Modbus Slave device connected to the Gateway. The Gateway allows up to 32 table entries.
