Optional Sew &
Serge Foot
The Side Cutter is an optional attachment that
will trim the excess material while sewing. This
accessory may be purchased from your
retailer.
Machine Preparation:
Select the Zigzag stitch. ⋅
— Set width and length according to your sewing
machine manual. After the side cutter is
attached, the stitch width may need to be
adjusted.
Attaching the Cutter
Attach the Cutter, making sure the cutter’s “arm”
fits around the needle bar thumb screw. The
“arm” is the long metal piece on the Cutter, which
moves up and down.
Thigthen the thumbscrew, securing the Cutter.
Slowly turn the hand wheel; the needle should go
over the stitch finger on the Cutter. If the needle
is hitting the metal stitch finger then widen the
stitch width. If the needle is hitting the metal
sides then reduce the stitch width. Never use a
straight stitch.
Sewing Instructions
1. Cut a 1x1-inch notch at top edge of your fabric.
This is necessary because the cutter’s blade
cuts prior to the needle stitching and it is best for
the machine to have material under the needle
while sewing.
2. Place the material OVER the first metal
platform and then UNDER the Second metal
platform. If the Cutter is not cutting, it is usually
due to the material not being placed OVER the
first platform.
3. Sew slowly and gently guide the material. The
Cutter works best if approximately no more than
1 inch is being trimmed away.
Recorta-lados
El recorta-lados es un accesorio que recorta
el excesso de material mientras cose. Los
accesorios adicionales puede adquirir los en

Preparación de la máquina
 Seleccione la puntada ZigZag.
— Seleccione la puntada de acuerdo al manual
de su máquina. Después de que el recorta-
lados esté puesto, el ancho de la puntada
debe ser ajustado.
Colocando el recorta-lados
Coloque el recorta-lados asegurándose de
que el “brazo” esté ajustado alrededor del
tornillo de la barra de las agujas. El “brazo”
es la pieza larga de metal en la cortadora el
cual se mueve de arriba para abajo.
Apriete el tornillo asegurando el cortador.
Despacio voltee la rueda/volante; la aguja
debe ir sobre la uñeta de puntada del
cortador. Si la aguja está pegandole al metal
de la uñeta entonces cambie el ancho la
puntada. Si la aguja está pegandole a los
lados, entonces disminuya el ancho de la
puntada. Nunca use puntada recta.
Instrucciones para coser
1. Corte una muesca de 1x1 de la parte de
arriba de la tela. Esto es necesario porque la
cuchilla del recorta-lados corta antes de que
la aguja cosa y es mejor que la máquina
tenga tela debajo de la aguja mientras cose.
2. Ponga la tela SOBRE la primera plataforma
de metal y luego DEBAJO de la segunda
plataforma. Si el recorta-lados no está
cortando se debe al que la tela no esta puesta
SOBRE la primera plataforma.
3. Cosa despacio y guié la tela suavemente.
El recorta-lados trabaja mejor si sólo se
recorta 1 pulgada a la vez.
