NOTE: You CANNOT store edited data to memory locations 1
through 30. If you attempt to do this the LCD wiU show
“*** READ ONLY *** MEM NO. 1—30”.
NOTE: Once a program has been stored in a memory location
between 31 and 90, its parameters can be further edited in
the new memory location. Such changes will be lost if a
different effect is selected and recalled, however, unless
the STORE function is used to store the changes. Changes
may be stored to the current memory location number (31
— 90) simply by pressing the STORE key.
EQ BYPASS
There are two ways to switch the selected EQ program in and out: 1)
with the control panel BYPASS key and 2) with a footswitch con­
nected to the BYPASS footswitch jack. An optional Yamaha FC4 or
FC5 Footswitch can be used for foot-bypass control. In either case
— when the control-panel BYPASS key or BYPASS footswitch is
pressed — the LED indicator in the BYPASS key will light. While
the BYPASS indicator is lit the DEQ7 program is bypassed and the
input signal is directly routed to the output terminals (i.e. the effect
is OFF). Press the BYPASS key or footswitch a second time to turn
the EQ program back ON.

PROTECT
I
If, for example, you are in the process of recording with the DEQ7
in-line, the last thing you want is for someone or something to
accidentally touch one of the control keys, thus changing the EQ
setting. The DEQ7 PROTECT function has been provided to pre­
vent this problem. To turn the PROTECT function ON, hold down
the PROTECT ON/OFF key and press the parameter editing up-
arrow key. The indicator LED in the PROTECT ON/OFF key wUl
light when the PROTECT function is ON. In this condition all the
DEQ7 control keys are “locked,” and pressing them has absolutely
no effect. Turn the PROTECT function OFF by holding down the
PROTECT ON/OFF key and pressing the parameter editing down-
arrow key.
All MIDI messages other than DUMP REQUEST are ignored when
PROTECT is ON.
