• Remove the cap and add the content of one packet of HI 93711-0 Total

Chlorine Reagent.

• Replace the cap and shake gently to mix for about 20 seconds. This is the

sample.

• Place the vial into the holder and push it completely down.

• Press

Timer and the display will show the countdown prior to the measurement and the message

Reaction Time”. Alternatively, wait for 2 minutes and 30 seconds and press Read. The instrument

will perform the reading.

• The instrument directly displays concentration in

mg/L of total chlorine.

of color or it may rapidly fade. To resolve this, neutralize the sample with diluted HCl or NaOH.
In case of water with hardness greater than 500 mg/L CaCO

3

, shake the sample for approximately

2 minutes after adding the powder reagent.
