: VDE Equivalent Device Leakage Test
The Equivalent Device Leakage test measures the current flowing from the shorted
L1 and L2 Mains terminals of the DUT to the DUT PE in response to an applied
isolated AC voltage greater than 110% of the Mains voltage. The Equivalent Device
Leakage test cannot be selected from the
Manual
menu unless the VDE 751-1 or
VDE 701 test standard is selected.
☛
Note:
This test should be performed with a mains voltage > 180 VAC as
specified by the VDE 701 and VDE 751 test standards.
It is recommended that a leakage calibration be performed whenever the
mains voltage level is changed (120 VAC to 220 VAC, or 220 VAC to
120 VAC), or when using the unit for the first time. This can be done
from either of the VDE Equivalent leakage tests or from Mains on
Applied Part.
Important:
The Equivalent Device Leakage test uses the IEC 601-1 Test Load
exclusively. This is true no matter what the currently defined test
standard is.
