Figure 55 Install other power module models

NOTE:

If you install only one power module, install a filler panel over the empty power module slot to ensure
good ventilation.

Before installing a PSR300-12A, PSR300-12A1, PSR300-12A2, PSR300-12D1, or PSR300-12D2 module
to the S5800-60C-PWR switch, make sure that the filler module is installed at the rear of the switch.

CAUTION:

To prevent damage to the power module or the connectors on the backplane, insert the power module
gently. If you encounter a hard resistance while inserting the power module, pull out the power module

and insert it again.

If the captive screw cannot be tightly fixed, check the installation of the power module.

Removing a power module

To remove a power module except the LSVM1AC650, LSVM1DC650, LSVM1AC300, and

LSVM1DC300:

1.

Wear an ESD-preventive wrist strap, ensure a good skin contact and make sure that the
ESD-preventive wrist strap is correctly grounded.

2.

Switch off the power module and disconnect the power cord.

3.

Loosen the captive screws of the power module with a Philips screwdriver until they are completely
disengaged.

4.

Grasp the handle of the module with one hand and pull it out a little, support the module bottom
with the other hand, and pull the module slowly along the guide rails out of the slot.

NOTE:

Put the removed power module in an antistatic bag.

The PSR150-A, PSR150-A1, PSR150-D, PSR150-D1, and PSR750-D power modules do not have a
power switch. You do not need to switch on and switch off the power module as described in the

installation and removal procedures in

Figure 47

and
