AN-X-AMXRIO

November 2011

Connection Parameters

12. Set the module Requested Packet Interval (RPI). This is how often the

module’s scheduled data is updated in the processor. The value can range
from 5.0 to 3200.0 ms.

13. Click Finish >> to complete the module configuration.

All connections to the module must have the same lengths and RPIs.

Selecting the RPI

When you create an exclusive owner or input only connection to the AN-X-AMXRIO,
you must select a requested packet interval (RPI), the period at which the data updates.

Consider the AutoMax remote I/O network time when selecting an RPI. There’s no
advantage in selecting an RPI that’s much faster than the network update time, since the
network data won’t update as fast as the scheduled connection. In addition, it will just
add ControlLogix backplane and Ethernet traffic.

Locating the Data

The data that is exchanged between the AN-X and the ControlLogix processor is defined
in a comma-delimited text file.
