Correcting jitter

Recording mode:

Automatically detects and prevents jitter. For video recording, the 5-Axis Hybrid Image

Stabilizer function is available. It uses both the optical stabilizer of the lens and the

electronic stabilizer of the camera’s sensor. It corrects different types of jitters including

those that occur during zoom recording and also recording while walking.

[Operation Mode]

(Normal)

Corrects vertical and horizontal jitter.

(Panning)

Corrects vertical jitter. This setting is ideal for panning

(technique of recording a subject by matching the camera

movement with the movement of a subject going in a specific

direction). We recommend using the Viewfinder.

[OFF]

[Stabilizer] does not work.

[E-Stabilization

(Video)]

Corrects jitters that occur in 5 directions during video recording, namely the

vertical direction, horizontal direction, rotation axis, vertical rotation, and

horizontal rotation (5-axis Hybrid Image Stabilizer function).

[ON] / [OFF]

•[ ] is displayed on the screen while recording video.

•It is fixed to [ON] when [Level Shot] is set.

•The angle of view may become narrower as compared to that during

recording.

To prevent jitter

If a warning is displayed about jitter, use [Stabilizer], a tripod or [Self Timer].

Using a slower shutter speed can cause motion blur. Shutter speed will be

slower particularly in the following cases. Keep the camera still from the

moment the shutter button is pressed until the picture appears on the screen.

We recommend using a tripod.

•[Slow Sync.]

•[Slow Sync./Red-Eye]

•[Clear Nightscape], [Cool Night Sky], [Warm Glowing Nightscape],

[Artistic Nightscape], [Glittering Illuminations], [Clear Night Portrait]
