OPTIONAL POLARITY SWITCH
AND POCKET AMPTROL CIRCUITS

The polarity switch permits changing the arc polarity at
the output terminals of the R3R machine. This switch
should not be changed while welding.

The Pocket Amptrol option provides the operator with
“wireless” remote current control capabilities. The cir-
cuit is powered by the optional amptrol transformer,
which has a 115VAC primary winding and a 24VAC
tapped secondary winding. The control board
receives command information from the voltage sens-
ing network located on the positive output lead. This
information is processed on the Pocket Amptrol PC
board, and the current control signal is sent to the
board.
