7.1. Setting Fault Behavior using remote console

interface

The available fault settings for a partition are described in

3.5.12 Fault Settings

. Ensure

that the desired behaviors take effect when faults occur by specifying the fault settings,
as follows:

1. Navigate to the settings page in the remote console interface for the partition.

2. Click

Fault

to scroll to the fault settings section.

3. Select the desired behavior for each fault setting:

• Start Degraded Partition

Determines whether a degraded partition is permitted to start.

• Failing Unit Removal

Determines whether the partition is reinitialized and restarted or failing units
are disabled.

• Maintenance

Mode

Enables or disables maintenance mode.

Notes:

-

If maintenance mode is enabled, a wrench icon appears in the upper-right
corner.

Once maintenance mode is enabled, you must disable it manually
because an automatic timer is not associated with it.

4. Type the primary and secondary central service computer IP addresses for sending

Call Home fault packets. Typically, these are the primary management server and a
backup management server in case the primary server is not available.

Note: Another application that interfaces with management firmware might manage
these addresses.

5. Return to the top of the page and click Submit.

The fault settings are updated.

7.2. Configuring Alerts and the SMTP Server using remote

console interface

Management firmware can generate alerts from sensor readings, events, and faults.
Management firmware can send notifications of alerts using email or SNMP traps, as
