The time and date are updated for the partition and all its member cells.

12.2. Adding Memory to Cells and Partitions

You can increase the memory capacity of the cell and its partition by installing additional
DIMMs on the memory board. Refer to

11.9 DIMM (CRU)

for the procedure to install

DIMMs on a memory board. Refer to the Technical Overview for additional information
about system memory.

Note the following rules when expanding system memory:

y

DIMMs must be installed in pairs. A pair consists of two identical fully buffered
DIMMs of the same speed, capacity, and number of ranks.

y

DIMMs must be loaded from the inside row of slots first before moving toward the
outside row of slots. Do not leave an empty slot between two populated DIMM slots.

The additional memory becomes available as follows:

y

Immediately, if the partition is running and the operating system supports the
hot-add memory capability

y

The next time that the operating system boots, if the partition is shut down or if the
operating system does not support the hot-add memory capability

For the best performance, install two memory boards in a cell. Both memory boards
should be populated with the same type of DIMMs and have the same memory capacity
installed.

If you need to install a second memory board to increase the number of DIMMs, contact
your customer representative to upgrade your system.

12.3. Eliminating Browser Startup Warnings using remote

console interface

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) certificates eliminate warning dialog boxes that browsers
display automatically when using the https secure interface, depending on the browser
used. To eliminate all browser startup warnings, use custom SSL certificates for each
partition and cell remote console interface, as follows:

1. Navigate to the SSL certificate page of the of the remote console interface for a

partition or cell, as shown in

Figure 3-15

and

Figure 3-30
