Transmitting Registration Data to an External
MIDI Device

( UTILITY– BULK DUMP)

Here’s how to transmit the contents of the registration and the system setup data to an external MIDI

device. This operation is called “bulk dump.”

Use a MIDI cable (optional) to connect the VP-770’s MIDI OUT
connector to the MIDI IN connector on an external sequencer (p.
116).

Press the [MENU] button to access the MENU screen.

Use the cursor buttons or the value dial to select “Utility,” then press
the [F2] (ENTER) button.

The UTILITY screen will appear.

Use the cursor buttons or the value dial to select “Bulk Dump,” then
press the [F2] (ENTER) button.

The BULK DUMP screen will appear.

Use the cursor buttons or the value dial to select the content that will
be transmitted, and press the [F2] (EXECUTE) button.

The registration currently being edited

All Data

The above two items and the system settings

The confi rmation message will appear.

Put the external sequencer in record mode.

Press the [F1] (OK) button to transmit the settings.

The message “Processing...” appears in the display during transmission of the data.

After the transmitting is fi nished, the display will indicate “Complete!.”

Stop the external sequencer.
