The DMS 8.1 Interface
DMS 8.1 uses the Microsoft Access 2007 or 2010 runtime (*for Microsoft
Access 2010, 32-bit version only).
The application uses a Command Tab structure; the menu options have
been replaced by options found in the Command Tab Ribbon. The exam-
ple below shows the Command Tabs along the top of the ribbon; they
include: Manage, Local Site Settings, Reports, Import, Tools, and Por-
table and Help.
In the example below, the Manage tab is selected, showing Manage tab
options in the ribbon.
When you select a Command Tab, a ribbon appears with options related
to the tab selection. Selecting an option in the ribbon directly opens appli-
cation forms as Tabbed windows in the Work Area of the screen. If you
don’t want the full ribbon always displayed, click the Customize Quick
Access Toolbar button to the right of the Office button to minimize the
ribbon. When you minimize the ribbon, it only appears when you select a
Command tab.
