Manual IIS Setup: cannot use the IntelliTrack Create IIS Dependen-
cies Utility to configure IIS for the IntelliTrack CE Batch communica-
tion. You must manually configure IIS. Manual IIS setup involves
advanced knowledge of IIS and advanced network administration
knowledge. For more information about manual IIS setup, please see

“Manual IIS Setup” on page 333

.

In determining your Remote Data Access configuration, consider whether
you want to use the Automatic IIS Setup Option or the Manual IIS Setup
Option for IntelliTrack CE Batch configuration.

Remote Data Access Glossary of Terms

In determining your Remote Data Access configuration, you will come
across various terms. These terms, as they relate to Remote Data Access
(RDA) with your IntelliTrack system, are defined below.

DMS_USER Role: IntelliTrack Stockroom user account in SQL
Server. If using a remote PC/server configuration for IIS, the IIS user
needs permission to use SQL Server database.

Domain: a computer grouping within a network that has a unique
name; the computers share a common directory database. All comput-
ers in the domain are administered as part of a unit with common rules
and procedures.

Domain Name: network domain name that the Batch Portable applica-
tion and database will use to communicate with each other. The
Domain Name is usually assigned by the network administrator. It is
only used in a domain environment.

Domain Security Account: requires a username and password for log-
ging into IIS Services. It is only used in a domain environment.

IIS Account: an administrative account that your handheld device or
PDT uses to communicate with the database.
