Settings in Each Tab
Paper Tab
This tab allows you to select a document type, paper type, paper size, and a few
other settings.
Document Type
Click the down arrow, and select the desired document
type from the displayed settings. The available options are
as follows:
• Automatic
Use this option to have the MD-1300 driver automati-
cally select between monochrome and full color print-
ing.
• Business Graphics
Use this option when printing a business document that
includes some graphics. The colors often used in busi-
ness documents, such as red and blue, will be printed
more vividly.
• Graphic Art
Use this option when the document contains text and
photographs or graphics.
• Photographs
Use this option when printing color photographs. Choos-
ing this option automatically turns on the Multi-Pass
Black option in the Color Format setting, so that the black
portions of color photographs are blended more natu-
rally.
• Monochrome Picture
Use this option when printing a monochrome graphic
image or printing a color image in monochrome.
• Monochrome Text
In contrast to Monochrome Picture mode, this option
produces images without halftoning. All shades of gray
will be printed as either black or white.
• Spot Color
Use this option for metallic color printing, white printing,
and photo realistic finishing.
• Metallic with Full Color
Use this option to print metallic plus full color pages with-
out having to change ink cartridges. Multicolor and black
ink cartridges are required. If you use three or more
metallic colors, you will need to change the metallic color
cartridges during the print job, according to the displayed
messages.
• Custom
Use this option when you want to select a printing me-
dium independent of the document type. Normally, the
Document Type setting restricts the Paper Type options.
