Chapter 1 - Major Functions and Operations
Installing the Printer Driver
Before you can use your printer, you need to install the MD-1300 printer driver software
so that your computer can work with the MD-1300 printer.
This section describes how to install the MD-1300 printer driver.
Purpose of the Printer Driver
The printer driver is a control program necessary for proper printing. When print-
ing from an application in Windows, you must use a printer driver that matches
the functions of the printer being used. It is necessary to select the printer driver
specifically designed for your printer in order to secure the desired printing re-
sults. When you use an application to create a document and the printer driver
selected is inappropriate for the printer that will be used to print the document,
only print settings that match the functions of the printer will be valid. To take
advantage of the many features of the MD-1300, create your documents after
selecting the MD-1300 printer driver.
