Check the contents of shipping box.

Reference

Unpack the shipping box making sure that the contents include:

analog input module (Catalog Number 1746ĆNI8)

removable terminal block (factoryĆinstalled)

If the contents are incomplete, call your local AllenĆBradley representative for assistance.

Ensure that your chassis and power supply support the 1746ĆNI8

module.

Reference

Review the power requirements of your system to see that your chassis supports the module:

If combining a 1746ĆNI8 module with another I/O module in a fixed controller, refer to the I/O

module compatibility table found in chapter 3.

For modular style systems, calculate the total load on the system power supply using the

procedure described in the SLC Installation & Operation Manual for Modular Style Controllers

(publication 1747Ć6.2) or the SLC 500 Family System Overview (publication 1747Ć2.30).

The 1746ĆNI8 backplane current consumption is 200 mA at 5V dc and 100 mA at 24V dc.
