The front of the VDC has 11 LEDs in three groups: Power (1 LED), Displays (6
LEDs), and Sources (4 LEDs) (see

Figure 2-1 on page 2-3

).

During normal operations, these LEDs indicate power status, selected display, and
selected source, as the labels on the PAN6400 VDC indicate. During IR learning
mode, these LEDs change their functions to assist in learning and the labels on the
PAN6400 VDC do not reflect LED meaning during learning mode.

In IR learning mode, the POWER LED becomes a status indicator for what is being
learned. The LED is green when displays are being learned and red when sources are
being learned. The POWER LED flashes when IR learning is complete.

The six LEDs in the DISPLAY group represent which specific source or display is
currently being learned. For example, if the Power LED is red and the second Display
LED is lit, then the PAN6400 VDC is set to learn IR codes for Source 2.

The four LEDs in the SOURCE group represent which step the PAN6400 VDC is on
during learning mode. As PAN6400 VDC and source or display remote button presses
successfully register with the PAN6400 VDC during learning mode, SOURCE LEDs
come on and stay on until all steps in the learning process are completed.

Figure 6-3 shows a PAN6400 VDC storing IR codes for Display 5, after a user has
pressed the source or display remote button.
