C

Cable Length Compensation (CLC). An expansion slot for maximizing signal
processing based on the distance your cable runs from the VP500 to the
Panorama Video Ports (VP500 or VP700).
CAT5. A description of network cabling that consists of four twisted pairs of
copper wire terminated by an RJ45 connector.
ControLinX. The DigiLinX component that enables control of non-IP-Based
sources from the DigiLinX Multi-Room Audio and Control system using
RS-232, IR, or voltage sensing.
Component Cables. Component cables look just like composite cables. The
difference is that, where a composite cable carries the entire video signal on a
single cable, component cables split the signal in three. This connection gives
a superior image over composite or S-video connections. The signal itself is
referred to as either Y,Cr,Cb, or Y,Pb,Pr. Most manufacturers make
connecting these cables easy by color coordinating them. The tips of the
cables and jacks will be red, green and blue.
Composite Cables. See RCA Cable.

D

Display. Device that converts a video signal to an image. Panorama supports
displays that accept component, composite, and S-Video signals.

E

EIM. Expansion Interface Module. A port used for expanding the capabilities of
a device. Used with the Musica MU5066ADC and the DigiLinX system.
Ethernet cable. A network cable used to connect switches and Audio/Video
ports.

H

Headend. The closet, rack, or other location containing the PAN6400 VDC and
other NetStreams devices, as well as the video and audio sources.

I

Infrared (IR). A wireless medium of remote control, which sends signals to a
device via pulses, transmitted in the infrared light spectrum. Its use is
restricted to equipment within line-of-sight or surface reflections.

K

KeyLinX. The KL100/200 KeyLinX keypads are single-gang in-wall keypads
that works for applications or audio zones where basic control of audio is all
that is required.

M

MediaLinX. The DigiLinX component that converts (in real-time) analog or
digital audio signals from a legacy source into uncompressed WAV audio
