Operation of timer

After setting the timer, one of the following opera­
tions can be added by pressing the Al TIMER keys.

The Al TIMER 1 and Al TIMER 2 do not function in the

timer recording mode.

■ Operation of Al TIMER 1

With this function, when the power is switched ON
by the program timer, the volume increases in three
steps.

1 Complete the program timer setting.

Switch the power of the power amplifier OFF.

2 Press the Al TIMER 1 key.

The Al TIMER 1 indicator lights up.

Select the maximum volume.

• The maximum volume setting varies every time the key

is pressed. When the key is released, the indicator goes

out and the maximum volume setting set at that mo­
ment is stored in memory.

■ Operation of Al TIMER 2

With this function, when the power is switched ON
by the program timer, two tracks on the CD is played
first, then the broadcast from the tuner is received
automatically. This function is given the highest pri­
ority over other program timer functions.

Place a disc in the CD player.

• With the UD-900M, place the disc on the Plus 1 tray

and close the door.

o Perform operations of "Timer reception
^ of radio broadcast".

• Refer to page 71.

3 Press the Al TIMER 2 key.

The Al TIMER 2 indicator lights up. ^—

changes.
The graphic equalizer curve also varies accordingly.

To cancel Al TIMER 2

Press the key again.

• The Al TIMER 2 indicator goes off.

Notes:
1. When the operation keys of the graphic equalizer or the

j VOLUME CONTROL [key on the remote control unit is

pressed while the Al TIMER 1 function is carried out, the
volume is fixed at the level being set.

2. If the TUNER or TAPE input selector key is selected during

the CD playback of Al TIMER 2, the CD playback stops there
and the Al TIMER 2 function is canceled.

3. If the operation keys of the CD player is pressed during the

CD playback of Al TIMER 2, the CD playback stops there and
the Al TIMER 2 function is canceled.

4. If the CD has not been inserted, reception of radio broadcast

starts at the moment A! TIMER 2 is activated.

5. Even when the program timer operation has completed, the

Al TIMER 1 and 2 indicators do not go off. Be sure to turn off
the indicators when the Al TIMER 1 and/or 2 is not required
any more.
