Appendix G - Installation Troubleshooting

Installing in Windows 95 with a machine that has only 8 Megabytes of RAM

Close down all other programs before installing the software. The Visual Basic installer is used
to install MicroWIN 2000. It is picky about the amount of memory needed to do this install.

Make sure to close down all other programs, or problems may occur. For example, the floppy
disks could stop reading correctly in the middle of the install. To fix this, simply exit the install,
shut Windows 95 down, turn off the computer, and then turn your computer back on. Once
Windows 95 is up and running, follow this procedure.

Look at the full list of running programs. ONLY ONCE, press Control, Alt, Delete at the same
time. Don’t press it twice in succession since this will reboot your computer. This will bring up
a box displaying all the tasks currently running. For each task, except the one labeled Explorer,
select it and click the button End Task on the bottom of the form. Once all other tasks are gone,
begin your software installation.
