SPECIAL EFFECTS

Decay

The Master fixture includes controls for a Decay effect. Since it operates
from the Master fixture, the decay is applied to the composite image
created by all 12 layers.

In the example to the right, a gobo has been given a Z-spin value and
decay has been applied.

It is important to note that Decay applied from the Master will only work
against a background of "nothingness." This means the absence of content
(no texture or object). If no layer is above 0% opacity, then there is only
black "nothingness" (i.e., the absence of content). If a gobo is placed on
Layer 1 and a texture is applied, then rotate or move it with decay turned
on, to see the effect.

If a gobo is placed on Layer 2, in front of a fullscreen texture on Layer 1, and then decay is turned on, no decay will be
seen.

You cannot tell that the gobo is rotating from the example image here, but it is. But no decay is visible since there is
"nothingness" behind it. However, if you reduce the opacity of Layer 1 behind the gobo, you can begin to see the
decay.
